Megan E. Spidell

Megan Spidell began her practice in Kernersville, NC representing clients in family and criminal court. In 2013, she moved to Dummit Fradin where she continued to practice family law, criminal law and social security disability in the Greensboro and High Point offices. In 2019, Megan made the decision to open her own firm practicing family law, criminal law and estate planning in Greensboro- and Spidell Family Law began.  

Attorney Spidell grew up in Salisbury, North Carolina, where most of her family still resides. She is a graduate of Catawba College and Elon University School of Law. Since graduating law school, Megan has dedicated much of her practice to family law- focusing on separation, custody, adoption, divorce, and financial issues.

Ms. Spidell has been honored as a the National Trial Lawyers: Top 100  (2014), Super Lawyers Rising Star (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019), North Carolina Legal Elite (2017), and AVVO Client's Choice Award.
 
Megan is a member of the Guilford Inn of Courts, the Greensboro Bar Association (Young Lawyers Section and Family Law Section), the Catawba College Alumni Board of Directors, volunteers with the Elon University School of Law Preceptor Program and is the 2018 and 2019 President of the Piedmont Triad Women Attorneys (a chapter of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys),

Ms. Spidell is licensed in North Carolina, where she practices regularly in District and Superior Courts in numerous local counties. Ms. Spidell is also licensed in Federal Court, in the United States Middle District of North Carolina.

Attorney Tai C. Hensley

Tai is from Rural Hall, North Carolina. She grew up in the Piedmont Triad area and spent many of her summers with family in Jamaica, where her mother is from.

 

She obtained a psychology degree from Wake Forest University, where she served as a research assistant and resident adviser. After college, she worked in media buying for an advertising agency in Winston-Salem. During and after college, Tai also worked as a nanny and daycare worker.

 

Tai graduated from Elon University School of Law and is licensed to practice law in North Carolina. While at Elon, she served as the treasurer for the Student Bar Association, a student attorney for the Elon University Small Business and Entrepreneurship Clinic, and resident-in-practice for the IRS, Office of Chief Counsel.

 

Tai has a continuing passion for ensuring the wellbeing of families in North Carolina.

Attorney Sarah L. Kettles

OF COUNSEL



Attorney Kettles is a Navy veteran, 1995 graduate of Virginia Tech with an engineering degree, a former construction project manager, and earned her Juris Doctor from Elon University School of Law with Honors in 2015. Attorney Kettles is a second career attorney, with decades of professional and life experience to apply to your matter in the form of real perspective on top of legal experience. Ms. Kettles will maintain Kettles Law, PLLC in Reidsville, serving her Rockingham County clients. 

Ms. Kettles has practiced primarily family law (including matters of Domestic Violence) in Guilford County, North Carolina since gaining her license, but has brought Kettles Law, PLLC to Reidsville in order to better serve her local community, while continuing to serve the Guilford County area. In addition to family law and matters of Domestic Violence, she has engaged in traffic matters and misdemeanor criminal matters, estate planning, legitimation, civil litigation, contract drafting, negotiation, and review, collection of monies owed, mediation, and has served as a Court Appointed Attorney for juvenile and adult protective matters.

Ms. Kettles is an outdoor enthusiast who knows military life, veteran life, farm life, corporate life, family life - and most importantly, how the law applies to her clients’ lives.

Samantha R. Thornton

 Samantha grew up in the Piedmont-Triad area. She attended the University of Kentucky, majoring in Political Science and Sociology and minoring in Chemistry. Samantha then returned to North Carolina to obtain her Master's in Study of Law from Wake Forest University School of Law, focusing primarily in tax law.
 
She interned with the UNC Chapel Hill Athletic Department, where she reviewed Risk Management Policy and Procedure, researched contracts, and conducting research of verified agents. After finishing her Master's in Study of Law from Wake Forest, she worked in Mass Torts at Womble Carlyle and for in-house counsel at Chase Bank, with bankruptcy facing mortgage liens.

Megan and Samantha have been working together for the past year and Samantha was part of the beginning of the firm. Part of the vision for Spidell Family Law has been Samantha's drive toward serving our community and volunteer work. Samantha is also a member of the Junior League of Winston Salem.

Emily M. Fourqurean

Emily grew up in the Northern Virginia area. She moved to North Carolina in 2008 to be close to family. Emily is a small business owner in High Point, NC. For the Past 10 years, she has owned her own business as an independent hairstylist- Emily Cae Beauty.
 
Emily joined Spidell Family Law in January 2020 and is currently attending Guilford Technical Community College studying to become a certified paralegal. In her spare time, Emily enjoys spending time with her daughter, friends and family, cooking and baking and traveling.
